Our Philosophy

Our Purpose

Driven by Clear Purpose

Our work is driven by one clear purpose: to support individuals through life’s challenges and help businesses create healthier, more resilient workplaces. Whether your team is facing personal hardships, mental health struggles, or systemic issues like absenteeism or burnout, we’re here to provide real help, with real impact.

Who We Serve

Our clients range from multinational corporations and government departments to schools, healthcare organisations, and SMMEs. No matter the size or sector, we tailor our services to meet your specific context, culture, and goals.

Our Approach

We understand that wellness looks different for every workforce. That’s why our solutions are not one-size-fits-all – they’re personal, adaptable, and scalable to meet your unique needs.
Our Advantage

What Sets Us Apart

National Network, Local Support

Our extensive affiliate network of registered practitioners (including psychologists, social workers, registered counsellors, GPs, and medical specialists) allows us to offer in-person services across the country. We also offer virtual care for maximum accessibility.

Cultural Relevance

We offer services that embrace cultural traditions and spiritual practices, including African spirituality counselling. We believe healing must respect identity - and that means speaking people’s languages, understanding their values, and supporting them holistically.

Confidential, Professional, Ethical

Every practitioner we work with is independently registered and governed by professional bodies such as SACSSP, HPCSA, SANC, and BHF. Confidentiality is our cornerstone, and all services are delivered with care, professionalism, and respect.

Flexible and Transparent Pricing

Choose between our fee-for-a-service or retainer model - whichever suits your operational model best. There are no long-term contracts, and just one month’s notice required for cancellation. Wellness support should be agile, not burdensome.

Mpho Maeko
Executive Chairman

Our management team brings more than two decades of combined experience in employee wellness, counselling, organisational development, and medical services. This collective expertise allows us to align strategic wellness goals with day-to-day execution, ensuring measurable outcomes at every step.

At the helm is Executive Chairman, Mpho Maeko – a respected social worker, social entrepreneur, and community leader. Mpho holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Social Work with Honours and brings extensive knowledge and experience to the practice. His leadership is deeply personal; having lost his mother at a young age, he channels this lived experience into a lifelong passion for supporting others through life’s challenges.

Mpho’s work has earned him recognition on both a national and international stage. In 2019, he was honoured by the Mail & Guardian as one of the 200 Young Influential South Africans, under the Civil Society category; a testament to his impact in driving positive social change. He is also the founder of the Fola Moya Project for the Aged, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the care and dignity of the elderly in the Tzaneen area of Limpopo.

Known for his gentle approach, patience, and collaborative style, Mpho has cultivated strong relationships with employees, clients, and partners alike. Under his guidance, Maeko Social Work Services Health and Wellness has expanded its reach across South Africa, implementing innovative programmes that address pressing social issues such as elderly care, psychosocial support, and holistic wellness.

Mpho’s vision remains clear and unwavering: to create a South Africa where every employee, every family, and every community has access to compassionate, professional care. His leadership continues to inspire the Maeko team and drive the organisation’s mission forward.

- Mpho Maeko, Executive Chairman

"At Maeko, we believe that wellness is not a luxury - it’s a right. Every employee deserves support when they need it most, and every organisation deserves a partner that walks alongside them through change, growth, and challenge. That’s the heart of our work."
